1. Who this policy covers
This Privacy Policy covers WorldTrade Barcoding, which may appear on a device as World Trade or WorldTradeMobile, and this application support website.
The app is used for the internal warehouse operations of World Trade Distribution, Inc. (WorldTrade), in Houston, Texas, United States. WorldTrade operates the underlying business systems and determines how its warehouse records are used. Step Forward provides application development, technical support and this support website.
The app is intended for authorized WorldTrade personnel. It is not a consumer service and is not intended for children.
2. Information handled by the app
Warehouse records and operational updates
The app reads business records from WorldTrade’s systems and sends operational updates back to those systems. Information may include import, container and detail references; bills of lading; customer and cargo information; barcode values; quantities and units; warehouse location codes; status updates; descriptions or marks; and cargo condition, damage and hazard information.
The app does not ask an operator to create a personal account or enter a personal profile. Operational records are associated with cargo and business-record references rather than an operator account. Warehouse location codes describe cargo handling or storage positions, not a person’s GPS location.
Cargo photographs
Photographs taken or submitted during warehouse work are uploaded to WorldTrade’s server and associated with the relevant operational record. They document cargo, handling and damage. The photographs are also available through WorldTrade’s ERP using the shared company image storage.
Photographs and free-text descriptions are intended for business information. A shipping label, a person in the background or text entered by an operator could nevertheless contain personal information. Avoid including unrelated people, identity documents or other unnecessary personal information.
Device settings and technical information
The app stores local preferences such as the selected company server, default warehouse locations, sound and vibration settings, and workflow options. Network services process connection information to deliver requests, and diagnostic output may be produced for troubleshooting. Technical infrastructure can generate records independently of the app’s interface.
3. Why information is used
Information is used to identify cargo, record receipt and handling, manage putaway and inventory moves, support loadout, document cargo condition, keep operational records consistent with the ERP, and investigate technical issues.
The described Barcoding service does not use operational information for advertising, cross-app advertising tracking, marketing profiles or sale to data brokers.
4. Camera, scanning and device permissions
The camera is used for barcode scanning and cargo photography. In the barcode scanning workflow, the detected barcode value is returned to the app. Cargo photography is a separate workflow that uploads photographs to the company system.
The app’s warehouse workflows do not use GPS location, microphone recordings or the device’s contacts. Sound feedback is playback, not microphone recording.
Where iOS or iPadOS asks for access to a device feature, you can allow or deny that access and change the permission later in the device’s Settings. Denying camera access prevents the camera-based functions from working. Withdrawing a permission stops future use of that device feature; it does not delete records already stored on WorldTrade’s server.
5. Storage, access and service providers
Operational data and cargo photographs are stored on the company server at WorldTrade’s office in Houston, Texas, United States. Within the described workflow, photographs are shared between the Barcoding app and the ERP through company image storage.
Access is intended for WorldTrade personnel and authorized technical support providers, including the application developer and IT support. Support access is for maintaining and troubleshooting the company system, not for a provider’s independent marketing use. The protections and purpose limits in this policy apply to technical support handling of app information.
This public support website does not display or retrieve cargo records and does not provide a connection to the warehouse API. Website hosting and support email are separate services, described below; they are not the company’s cargo-photo storage.
6. Retention and deletion
Cargo photographs currently have no scheduled expiry or automatic deletion process and may remain on the company server indefinitely. A record no longer being eligible to appear in the Barcoding app does not mean that its photographs have been deleted from the ERP or server.
Other warehouse records are maintained in WorldTrade’s business systems. This policy does not promise an automatic deletion period for those records. Authorized personnel can review whether a record or photograph should be corrected, removed or retained.
Uninstalling the app, changing a server setting or revoking camera access does not delete information already stored in company systems. The app does not create personal user accounts, so there is no personal account to close within it.
To raise a concern about personal information or request access, correction or deletion, use the contact process in section 8. A request does not automatically authorize removal of a company’s operational records.
7. Network and security considerations
The app connects to a company-configured server. Connection protection depends on the actual server and network configuration; this policy does not represent that every app deployment uses HTTPS or that all app traffic is end-to-end encrypted.
Use only company-approved server and network settings. Access to a company device, server or support channel should be limited to authorized people. Report an unexpected connection, an incorrect record or a suspected disclosure to application support.
No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. The HTTPS connection used by this website is separate from the connection between the app and WorldTrade’s operational systems.
8. Privacy questions and requests
Send privacy questions or requests concerning personal information to:
Gabriel — Step Forward, application support
gabriel@stepforwardco.com
Use the subject “WorldTrade Barcoding — Privacy request”. Describe the information or record involved and the action you are requesting. Provide only the minimum information needed to locate the issue; do not send passwords, full databases or unrelated cargo photographs.
Requests that require a decision about WorldTrade’s records are referred to WorldTrade. Verification of identity or authority may be needed before information is disclosed or changed. WorldTrade will consider applicable requirements and the need to preserve legitimate business records. Deletion is not automatic and cannot be guaranteed in every case.
You can also stop submitting optional photographs or text and revoke device permissions. These choices do not erase existing company records.
9. Website visits and support email
This website is maintained by Step Forward and hosted using Cloudflare. It has no contact form, advertising scripts or client-side analytics, and its own code does not set cookies or browser storage.
Cloudflare processes technical request information, such as IP addresses and HTTP request information, to provide hosting, delivery and security. Security features may use essential cookies depending on configuration. This is separate from the app’s operational records. See Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy and its cookie information.
When you choose to contact support by email, the recipients and email providers process your email address, the content you send and any attachments. That information is used to respond, troubleshoot or handle your privacy request. Relevant messages may be shared with WorldTrade when its action is needed. This policy does not promise a fixed automatic deletion period for support correspondence.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the app’s operation, hosting or support practices change. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised date. For questions about a change, contact gabriel@stepforwardco.com.
